Rustic. The Shekinah Cabin was the first structure built on this Land 15 years ago. A tiny home before we knew they were a thing. Two small rooms. 300 sq ft. Two narrow cots on main floor. Loft crawl space with ladder access – queen mattress. Functional Cook stove and air-tight stove for heat. Solar electricity and hot plates, bar fridge. Kitchen basics. Indoor composting toilet. Water in portable tote used in a dry sink. The Shekinah Cabin is a 45 minute drive from Algonquin Park.
About Rise Above Guest House
Our name choice was inspired by the “Rise Above” artwork by Kurt Flett, an Oji-Cree (Swampy Cree) from Garden Hill First Nation in the Island Lake region of northern Manitoba. Come and join us in our adventure with the Land as we continue to learn what she has to teach us.
