If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with a gorgeous view and even better interiors, look no further! Marilyn and Svinda have put together a beautiful space with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The room felt private but the shared space upstairs was also nice to use when we wanted. Kitchen was stocked, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was sparkling clean. You can really tell how much love and care they put into decorating and finishing the entire house. Can’t wait to be back soon!

I visited Marilyn and Svinda’s place to get some writing done. They were very welcoming and kind. They were available if I every needed anything but I also had as much privacy as I wanted. This is a lovely spot to enjoy beautiful views, farm animals, the works. Very tranquil :)

Svinda and Marilyn were so accommodating – they waited up for us until last midnight to check in since we were arriving so late. They were super welcoming, friendly and gave good recommendations of the area – from hikes to restaurants. Their space was sooo clean, bright and photogenic – such great art and decor. The rooms were very rustic and cozy! We loved staying – and definitely returning again!

Delightful stay! Marilyn and Svinda were very accommodating. I arrived late due to poor driving conditions and they were flexible. When I finally arrived, they took time out of their movie night to acquaint me with their beautiful guesthouse and its quirky personality. I had the upstairs to myself to quietly read and enjoy the stunning view and they were respectful of my personal space. The following morning they were kind enough to answer all my questions about the local area, history of the house, and introduce me to all the lovely critters. Then I got a solid afternoon of snowshoeing and shinrin-yoku in. They have acres of trails to explore. Be sure to visit the mama pine and give thanks!

Rise Above Guest House is a wonderful antidote to a busy city life! The scenery is breathtaking and the reception is warm and welcoming. Marilyn and Svinda were very accommodating of my needs and sensitive to my personal desires – a great balance of solo time and companionship. Being in the forest was just what my soul needed and having a clean, comfortable, well appointed space to come back to or sit in when it rained just made it that much more refreshing.
