Art, Story, Nature

2 Workshops

Saturday, December 3, 2022

Led by Tamara Gibson

Exploring Light and Dark Interplay
as we near the Winter Solstice.

Tamara is the human behind SweetSpot Creative and Therapeutic Arts. Her creative and therapeutic work focuses on exploring the complexities of being human through art, story and nature.  You can find out more  about her at www.sweetspotart.com.

Winter Solstice offers a rich context for us to explore the ways darkness and light influence and interplay in our human experience on personal and collective levels. Enjoy a beautiful day of connection with self, others and the land to explore our relationship with the light and the dark through art, story and nature.

Workshop 1 – 9am – 12noon: We will explore darkness and light through needle felting. Drawing upon transformative nature- and story-based processes to explore the theme of light and dark, using Canadian raised, hand dyed sheep’s wool to create a beautiful piece that brings your experience to life.

Workshop 2 – 1pm – 4pm: We will focus on the therapeutic side of SweetSpot Arts and on Eco-Art Therapy Process, an art, story and nature-based guided process that has become the cornerstone of both Tamara’s personal and therapeutic work.

Cost: $60 for 1 session or $100 for both or sliding scale ◆ includes all materials

Call or email to book a space: payment required to book info@riseaboveguesthouse.ca or 613-334-0668

What to bring: Appropriate clothing for some outside time.

If you are signing up for both sessions – please bring something to share for a potluck lunch – in keeping with Rise Above Guest House’s commitment to being a “community of hospitality”.

A homemade soup will also be available.
