Sugaring-Off Special
Each year in the late winter and early spring – actual start date determined by the weather – we tap the maple trees, gather the sap and boil it over a fire in the forest until we have thick sweet maple syrup. If you would like to help – please consider the following opportunity:
Enjoy a 2-5 night stay at 50% off in exchange for helping us make maple syrup.
What’s involved:
- Tapping trees (putting the spiles in the trees and placing the buckets with lids)
- Collecting sap from the buckets
- Boiling the sap
- Collecting wood for the fire
- Hanging out in the forest, feeding the fire, eating snacks, drinking sap-tea
- Final boil-down in the house along with tasting the fresh syrup
