This month a quick question. What thrills your heart?
My list today
monarch butterflies doing a mating dance in flight near the ash tree
morning mist floating in the sunrise air
hermit thrush melody any time of day
indigo bunting song in the lazy afternoon
a robust black currant flavour burst on the tongue
fresh crunch of a snow pea pod
tiny tiger kittens wrestling each other in the grass
bee buzz blanketing the clover blossoms
strawberry shortcake
early evening calm, when the heat of the sun is gone and I’m filled with the awe and wonder of it all
each land-mate and guest who shares these moments with us
Each guest who comes through our doors reminds me that there are more interesting, decent, kind, and loving humans in this world than those who make hate their MO.
In fact, I don’t think I have ever personally met a human who hates (other than online). I have met angry humans, frightened humans and wounded humans, and sometimes they do hateful things.
Ultimately, however, I’m convinced that most of us want a world that thrills our hearts with the most ordinary and awe-inspiring daily things.
What ordinary miraculous thing thrilled your heart today? Let us know. info@riseaboveguesthouse.ca
